WOW… is all I can say. I have never seen people as hungry for the word of God as they have been here in Vilanculos. The first days we were here we saw people coming to Christ in huge numbers and so it continues the entire time we have been here. God is moving in this place.
There are a couple of people I’d like to tell you about. They are a pair of brothers. Their names are Orlando and Juvencio. Orlando is nine years old and Juvencio is thirteen. They are some of our favourite people here. We first met these boys selling eggs on the street. We began meeting them every day, with them trying to sell us eggs and us having no reason to buy any. We would just sit and sing or play or run around with them, and now they just want to hang out without any other motives.
These two boys have become God lovers. They come to church, they come and ask questions, they want to know more about the bible. I love them and so does God. He has called the children like these two to become his disciples and it is part of our journey to lead them into discovery of the grace of God. God is changing the hearts of these boys to become more like him.
We have also seen other amazing heart changes in the young boys around here. As always Daniel has his soccer ball out and is drawing in all the boys with his skills and talents while us ladies are on the side lines ready to hug and cuddle anyone as soon as they get tired. This kind of ministry is my favourite as it is like showing these kids two different kinds of love.
This journey has been about love. Jesus came because he loved us so much, and so our groups come because we love Jesus so much, and so we want those around us to also know this love.
