What is really special about the Parez family is their unity. The head of the Parez family is Ronny the father, he works in the fish industry and also volunteers as a fire fighter, Mowra is the mother and keeps house, together they have 5 children: Eduardo, 17, Marta, 13, Roberto, 12, Jacqueline, 8, Fernando Hosea, 6.
We met this family at the church we went to the first Sunday we came to Guatemala. They have been feeding us and filling us with juice as we work at their house.
Every time we visit the Parez Family, they are always willing to help each other out. The children all play together like a happy family, the oldest daughter puts games together for everyone to play, it’s just so much fun. This month our team has been learning about what it is like to live, work, play and be together all the time, and it is tiring but unity is something so important to being the working being God created us to be.

This month we were able to continue to finish their house by putting up some gutter to drain the rain into their new water tank, which was perfectly timed as it finally rained last night, the same day we finished their spouting.
We have been doing many different things with the Community here in Puerto Barrios, We have been out in the red light district doing prostitute ministry, going on prayer walks around the streets, cleaning an orphange, connecting with families living in the rubbish dump, we have been painting and cleaning peoples homes and churches, and putting on dramas and worship in churches.
With so much going on around us, the main thing I have been learning is unity. God has given us the Parez Family to show me this, that without unity, people are unconnected, and separated and nothing gets done.
We were not put in this world alone, we were all given a family of some sort. This is my new family, this is unity at its greatest . When strangers connect and become family. When families meet new families and learn from them.
God is good!
