You know how you have the intentions to write and you write so brilliantly in your head BUT you never get to writing and posting.  Well that’s what has happened so many times in my blogging time and especially in the past month since being back in the States.

BUT I want you all to know what I am up to for the next few weeks, so here goes…  Sunday the 5th while all of you are watching the Super Bowl I will be getting on a plane and heading to Kenya to debrief my Immersion team that I travelled with up until Christmas.  I will spend a few days with them and Tamica Sloan, who works for AIM.  We will dive into debriefing their time in Thailand, the good, bad and the ugly(ok hopefully no ugly).  I will get to hear about all of the people they were able to love on during their three months in Thailand and see how God has shaped and changed them personally.  I am SOOOO excited to get to spend this time with them.  Please be praying for that short time to be filled with God’s Spirit and power.  This crew still has three more months of ministry in Kenya, and if you have been to Africa you know how incredible and trying of a time this will be, especially at the end of a 9 month trip.

Then I head to see old friends in Kijabe for a week, Pastor Simon and Margaret. When I was in Kenya two years ago the team that I lead worked with Simon and Margaret and the church in Kijabe for three months.  I am so excited to get to return to a place and people that I love so much.  Through our time in Kenya two years ago a group of young people decided that something needed to be done for the internally displaced people groups camped in the valley outside of Kijabe.  This team now lives in Kijabe, a few of which were on teams that I got to lead.  I am excited to see how God is using them there and how they are discipling and helping the people of the IDP camps.  As you know I haven’t gotten to return to very many places over the past few years, so it is a great treat to get to have this time.

AND…. the best part of all of this is that I get to see Baby Patrice, well not so much of a baby anymore but a toddler none the less.  I have never met her as she was in her mother’s belly when I was there last.  I am sure I will take so many pictures and kiss her lots.  It will be hard not to try and bring her home with me.

When I return from Kenya I am not sure where I am headed and I would greatly appreciate your prayers for this.  I want to pursue something to empower Mama Rita and her children in Mozambique but I don’t know what that means right now.  Please pray for this transition.  If you would like to support me financially please contact me at [email protected], as I will not be fundraising through Adventures in Missions any longer.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support.
