My Nicaraguan boyfriend and I are sad to separate in a few days when I leave Nicaragua but I kind of knew that things weren’t going to work out between us, seeing as he is 8 months old.

This is Sergito, he is the son of Pastor Luis and Patricia, who live with us at Nueva Vida. I do call him my Novio (boyfriend in Spanish) but his older sister, Andrea who is 5 gets kind of upset and confused because she says you are so big(old) and he is so small(young).  As of recently her parents finally explained to her that it is a joke so she will call him my novio now.
I love this family so much and I will miss them a bunch!
Pastor Luis is a phenomenal pastor and has done a great job of building Nueva Vida. When he first arrived the church only had 3 people in attendance but now there are close to 70 people who come regularly.  God has used this man to love this church so well!
I have become great friends with his wife, Patricia, who is an incredible woman of God. I can tell that being a pastor’s wife is trying for her but she genuinely loves the Lord and serves God and her family so well in her home.  Her home has been a great respite for me and for many others of our team.
A group of us who have grown close to this family decided to take their family to Managua for a day of fun.  We started the day off going to McDonald’s for the kids first time to eat Chicken McNuggets.
Sergito doesn’t show a lot of emotion but we could tell by the noises he was making that he LOVED McDonalds.
After lunch we took them to a movie to see Dolphin Tale.
Not only did Andrea and Patricia get to see their first movie in a theater but they got to see it in 3D.  It was so much fun to watch Andrea watch the movie, she loved every minute of it.
It was so much fun to get to spend the whole day with this amazing family.  They loved every minute of our Managua Adventure and we have loved every minute of getting to know them and being a part of their family.
We leave for debrief in San Juan Del Sur on Tuesday, please pray for us as we say our goodbyes and head to debrief and then on to Thailand.
