Today Sarah, Robby and I decided to walk the streets of Chincha, Peru.  For weeks we have been here and we haven’t really wandered off of the main street, so today we ventured out a bit to some different streets.  As we were walking we came across my friend, Alex, the man who lives in the trash dump from my previous blog.  After a few minutes of standing in the street I asked him if he was hungry and if we could take him to eat, he agreed so we proceeded to our favorite Peruvian pizza restaurant.

We got him some pizza and a Pepsi and sat down with him.  We were able to talk with him, turns out he speaks some English and we were able to use an electronic translator (thanks Shannon) to talk.  We talked a little bit about God, he definitely knows about God and the Bible.  Unfortunately the translator and his English only went so far, so we got him to commit to meeting tomorrow for lunch at noon EST.  We are definitely taking a translator tomorrow!

We believe that it was no coincidence that we ran into Alex on the street today.  Please pray with me if you read this before Sunday at noon.  Pray that God will move in our conversation.  He told us today of some shame that he had but we couldn’t quite comprehend, so hopefully tomorrow we will be able to bring some light to that situation.  I will update you on more after our visit tomorrow.
