A brother from Indonesia!
So this blog might look a bit different, but the past week has been such a blessing I just want to share it with all of you! Here it goes!
Monday 18
We spent most of Monday just hanging around the house with Pastor Thomas and his family. Around 7:00pm we crowded into two cars and headed out to a rock quarry in the jungle to do ministry with workers there from Mynamar. This is what is so amazing about this trip not only do we get to reach out to the countries that we are in, but often times we touch parts of the world we never set our feet in! We gathered with a dozen or more men in a small room for a time of worship and the word. There were people from Bangladesh, Mynarmar, India, and the united states all together in the room. A small taste of what Heaven will be.
Tuesday 19
We left at 7:30 from the small city of Changlun to go to the city of Kulim. After a short three hour bus ride we arrived and met with a woman named Maria. Maria runs 5 homes in Kulim for the elderly, children, and special needs. She has been running the homes for almost 20 years now totally funded by the Lord as he leads people to give. We took the remainder of the day going and seeing each of the homes, then had an amazing dinner of chicken curry with over forty residents of the Sunshine Homes.
Wednesday 20
After visiting all of the homes the previous day we headed out to visit and bless each of them. First we went to the elderly mens home. Some of the men were severely disable, and many of them were taken from off of the streets. I was able to play some worship songs for them, and then we prayed for them. After visiting them we visited the elderly women and spent time drawing, playing music, and praying for each of them. A few were bed ridden but I could still see joy in them as we spent time there. After spending a few hours with them we headed off to the children's home. We played a bunch of games and they really wore us out! Later we visited the special needs children and we were so blessed. There was so much joy in that place! God showed me how beautiful every single person is during these two days. Thanks you Jesus!
Thursday 21
We spent Thursday with a Pastor in Kulim named Mark. Pastor Mark has been in Kulim for 10 years working as a church planter and is the pastor of a church called Vineyard Music. We had an amazing day visiting a local water fall area with crystal clear water which was nice and cold. We grilled some chicken, did some swimming, and also got to go on a tree top walkway through the jungle! We went back to the church that evening for a prayer service and poured our hearts out to God with his church members.
Friday 22
We spent Friday afternoon with Mark and his family sharing food and fellowship. Friday night we participated in their weekly service. I was able to play some worship with the pastor while he played a traditional drum. After worship I was blessed with the opportunity to preach a message on unity in the church. What a blessing I have now been able to preach in 5 of the 6 countries! Praise God!
Saturday 23
We traveled to a Lutheran church in the morning, then spent a few hours planning a children's service and a youth service for later in the evening. We gave a message on Joseph to the children and sang a bunch of children's songs with them! Later the youth came and we spent time in worship and the Word of God with them.
Sunday 24
We attended a worship service in the morning with the Lutheran congregation. I was blessed to be able to worship with the band and sang a few hymns. My teammate Travis and I shared testimonies about how God will use the weak things of the world (us) to be a blessing if we just step out in faith. After church we Jumped on a bus and headed back to Changlun! Wow what a week!
I know this was a lot but I just wanted to give you a glimpse of my experience here! My final support deadline is coming up I am in need of $2,400 by next week!
