This place feels safe.
From my earthly perspective it is beautiful. Mountains surround us and a large river runs through the bottom of the valley.
There are children running here and there, cattle and goats grazing, Swaziland is a naturally beautiful place.
I want to emphasize the word NATURAL in the last sentence.
In the Word God says that the natural, the things we can see, are not the true reality. It is the unseen things that are the true reality.
Since we have arrived in Swaziland our squad of 40 has been living together and working each day at EL Shaddai orphanage. Painting roofs, singing songs, and spending time with the children here.
These things are great, but under the surface we have also been fighting a war.
The spiritual war here In Swaziland is pretty heavy and easily seen in the workings of the culture around us.
Rape is a normal part of life here, in fact its often the “Woman’s fault”, because of her clothing choices.
Aids runs rampant, I believe the stats are 1in 4.
There is a tangible heaviness that has been over us.
Last night accusations flooded my mind. “Your not a believer.” “You don’t want to hear this Jesus stuff.” These are just a few that barraged my mind, but thank Jesus for the people he has surrounded me with to pour the truth over these lies!
This morning a few of us woke up at 5:30am and fought back. We prayed, read the Word, and worshiped the living God! We are not going to play defense against the father of lies, we are actively pushing back the darkness with the truth of Jesus.
There is a fire starting here in Swaziland and in X-Squad. Fires can be challenging to start but once they are ablaze they are almost impossible to stop.
Please pray for Swaziland and for X-Squad. God is on the move and his fire will not be quenched! Pray for passion and protection. Pray that we find everything in our awesome father Jesus Christ! Thanks for following along with me on this journey!
