We made it to Honduras! These past few days have been an adjustment for me. There are a lot of new things here to get used to! We are staying at a place called Zion's Gate which is just outside of the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Here is a short list of the new things this month. We are camping in our tents, our whole squad of 40 plus people are here, we are working with youth, and also doing some building projects within the city.
The ministry here reminds me so much of my work at the Rawhide Boys Ranch. We are working with a man named Tony who moved here about 5 years ago. He has opened up his home to five boys who are coming out of some really unbelievable circumstances. The boys are all in their teens and are now enrolled in schools and working to reaching goals they have set for their futures. There are a few differences, the boys here are staying by choice, they have freedom to leave and do what they please, and they work on the 20 acre property here and get paid each day for their efforts.
Its awesome for me to be in a different country and yet see that the youth here needs the light of Christ just like they do in the states. This ministry is truly amazing, and is just such a testimony of how God can change a life.
These past few days have been tough on me just fighting lies, but the community here has been so good. I need my brothers and my sisters. God has set us free from everything that trys to hold us back. Today I am free from lies and I am a son of the Living God. In Galatians it says it is for freedom that Christ has set us free, we need to live in this freedom. Ministry starts next week and I cant wait to begin to dive into the lives of the people God is preparing for us to reach out to! Blessings to everyone!
