As I am at the beginning stages of preparing for this trip I have to admit that I am overwhelmed with all that needs to be done! There are vaccines, fund-raising, physical training, spiritual training, and so much more! It is quite daunting to think about all the details and everything that needs to be done, and then to survive the trip itself!! I’m trying not to freak out!
However, Jesus promises never to leave us or forsake us, whew! This is part of the process, the stretching of our faith in God to provide for our needs; financial, medical, physical, and spiritual. Among the stress and anxiety of leaving for a year over-seas, the enemy attacks with thoughts of; “its too much, you cannot do it, it is too expensive.” The enemy plants thoughts and feelings of fear, doubt, and reminds you of failures from the past. But this is what God’s word says;
1 Corinthians 16:13-14-“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”
Hebrews 11:1-40-The entire chapter regarding the faith of those God has called!
Hebrews 12:1-3-“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Ephesians 3:20-21-“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
The Lord will provide all things necessary for this mission that He has and continues to prepare me for this trip! Being stretched in faith is part of the process! Pray for me as I prepare, pray for the squad, the teams, for the hearts and minds of our families, the people we will be ministering to, and all things involved in this next season! Trusting God with all the details!
