I know that I’m a little stuck on this idea, but just bare with me. I am a historian, or at least I studied history in college. So I love analyzing the big picture of historical events, and God has given me a passion and kind of a vision for His work in history. I simply amazed that God is the same from creation to now!!
From Genesis, where God spoke and there was light and by His voice creation came into being. It was His voice that spoke to Moses through a bush that did not burn. His voice and presence guided Moses and Aaron to deliver Israel from the yoke of the Egyptians. His voice that they chose to listen to when all the nation of Israel wanted to turn back and return to Egypt. His voice that delivered the Ten Commandments and the Law to Moses and to the world. His voice that cried out in the wilderness through John the Baptist in order to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus!
I am amazed that the Creator of the universe, the creator of earth, the one who sent the flood yet spared Noah and his family; the God who called Moses and used him as His instrument of earth to liberate His chosen people; the same God who spoke through the prophets; the same God who called Abraham to a land not his own; the same God who sent His own Son to live and die for His people who had totally rejected Him. Pretty much all of Hebrews 11 explains what I’m trying to say!
I’m amazed at His grace! This is the same God who gave us His Words in the Bible that is ‘sharper than any double edged sword.” (Hebrews 4:12) The Lord is a huge, big, amazing, holy, and awesome God and yet with knuckle-heads like Moses in the Tent of Meeting in Exodus 33:11a “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend.”
This is the same God who spared me from death…twice. This is the same God who has sent angels to protect me as I slept in my crib(ask my mom). This is the same God who spoke to me through others about my ‘warrior’ calling and my ‘evangelistic annointing’ that He has bestowed on my life. This is the same God that has protected me from evil, and delivered me from destructive habits. The Lord that was the same God that created the earth, called Moses, and so many others is the same God who calls my name into the mission field! This is the same God that cares so much about His children, and never grows tired or weary of helping or disciplining His children.
I am amazed at God’s activity throughout history and in my own life and the lives of others! I have seen His work overseas and I look forward to witnessing Him work on this trip! I look forward to victory over the fundraising, because all things are possible with Him!! I am so grateful for His providence and protection in my life, and His voice that remains constant! So I say YES to His invitation to serve Him all over the world, I say YES to His voice!!
