My last blog post was all about reflecting on my first months of the race. When we were given those questions, we were also given questions in regards to looking ahead to the next 8 months. So here’s my answers to those.
1. What do I need from the Lord right now?
Rest. Recently I fully came to the end of myself. It was an exhausting and humbling moment, as well as an exciting one. I saw a vision of myself falling into the arms of the Father, weeping, because my strength had fully ended. But he’s my comforter, and I have full faith he will continue to vie me rest and his strength to carry out his plans
2. What am I excited about?
The amount of freedom in our ministry this next month. My team and I will be doing what we call “Monk Ministry.” In short, we’ll be going into the pagodas (Buddhist temples) around the city and building friendships with the monks there. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: bringing Kingdom is loving others just like Jesus did. So that’s what we aim to do with these men that we’ll be meeting.
And beyond that, experiencing even more cultures and peoples. So far I’ve loved jumping feet first into an unknown culture and learning about it. I’m very excited to experience even more cultures down the road.
3. What makes me nervous?
Figuring out what role the Lord wants me to take on in my team and my squad. This is something that I’ve been trying to figure out since training camp, and it’s been a humbling process. I still haven’t figured it out, but I know the Lord will reveal it to me at the right time.
4. Ask God what words he’s speaking over this next month
“Steadfast”
I’m not sure what this word means in regards to this second month of the race, but I’m stoked to find out.
I don’t fully know what these next 8 months hold, but that’s okay. I’m content with finding out day by day what the Lord’s plan is in all of this. He laid out the plan for each of my squad mates to be here before the idea of each of us even existed on this earth. He’s whimsical and perfect, and I know his plans will be too.
Fundraising update: I’m over 90% funded! The Lord has been incredibly faithful in providing these funds through my supporters since I left the states. That said, I’d love to make a big push to be fully funded in the next 30 days. If you at all feel moved to donate to me and what the Lord is doing over here in Cambodia, there’s a link on the left side of this page. And if you know anyone that would want to send support, please please share this with them!
Funding goes towards ministry supplies, food for my team, lodging, and travel expenses, among a few other, smaller expenses.
Thank you so much for your help!
