Hello everyone! We have almost been here a month and so much has happened. Over the past couple of weeks we have served widows in almost every way thinkable. We have served them lunch and dinner. We have built chicken coups and chimneys for them. We have also worshipped God in song with them and provided messages to them about our loving Father and how much they are worth to Him.
We have been attending a school for children located up the mountain. We go up there to play with the kids, serve lunch, and even teach english sometimes. We were there today as a matter a fact! I saw one little girl who kept having to put her shoe back on because it was worn out and torn. She was covered in dirt and I was filled with sadness because of how little she had. But then she turned around, looked at me and with the most beautiful little smile she waved and then ran off laughing. She had nothing, yet was filled with so much joy. God spoke to me and said, “you can obtain the whole world and still have nothing, but with Me, you will have life. Not only life, but an eternity filled with Joy, Hope, and Love, no matter how bad a situation seems or how much you lose in this life. Just rest in Me, Parker.” How God reveals so much through a poor little girls smile, I’ll never understand. I refuse to gain this world for the sake of my soul. Thank you so much Father for everything you put in my life whether good or bad. Let me be overjoyed in every situation, because I know You are receiving glory and that makes my heart sing out in praise!
It has been a roller coaster here. Satan has been doing everything in his power to stop the Kingdom of Heaven from advancing. He has whispered death and venom to us throughout the day. He has attacked us in many ways physically, and has been repeatedly attacking almost all the teams here through nightmares. But greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world! What Satan can’t get through his stubborn head is that we are here to stay, and there is nothing he can do to stop us from furthering the love of Christ to this world. We are establishing a church in front of the gates of hell and it will not be shaken. We will continue to serve these people. We will continue to pray for these people. And we will never stop loving them!
I wanted to end with some exciting news. We made history in Xenacoj. Two Sundays ago, we partnered up with Wycliffe Bible Translators to pass out over 1000 Bibles to the town. These people have never had the Bible written in their native Mayan language called, Cakchiquel. This is the first and only time this will ever happen because there are still many languages that don’t have the Bible written in their language. God showed up in such a big way, and opened so many hearts to accepting His word. It was a beautiful sight!
Thank you again for all the prayers, comments and love. Whenever I feel like it’s been a hard day, I read your comments and I am immediately filled with joy! Your prayers are changing lives here! The link below is a video of us leaving for Guatemala and where we are living. Thank you all again. God Bless you all!
