Unsung Hero (n.): Men and women who are dedicated to serving some of the most impoverished populations in the world, yet rarely receive recognition for their dedication and service. These givers may also live with meager conditions but give consistently from an abundance of God’s love. Their names may not be in history books, their acts unknown to the rest of the world, while unrecognized, they shake a generation and move a culture and ultimately build the Kingdom.

This is it. This is what Team Warrior Bride is searching for this month in Thailand.

How do I feel?… Excited. Scared. Nervous. Hopeful.

You see there was no game plan given to us and that kinda freaked me out. So I had my moment. I embraced my feeling but I didn’t dwell in it. I encouraged myself in the fact that God knew the game plan…

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord…” Jeremiah 29:11

and would reveal it to my team on His own timing by us seeking Him…

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29: 12-13.

We did.

Our first day was orientation with our Unsung Heroes coordinator, Samara. She gave us details on individual roles and responsibilities as a team. She was also able to give personal advice and encouragement since her team was the Unsung Heroes team last month in the Philippines. After orientation we individually went into a time of listening prayer. During this time we called upon the Lord to show us the cities He wanted us to go to this month and what each person’s individual role would look like.

And the plan was given.

So we are currently in Chiang Mai until Tuesday afternoon prayerfully searching out ministry leads in this area and the other cities we will be attending. We will leave this area and take a 3 hour bus ride north to Chiang Rai. We will stay in Chiang Rai for a week and visit the ministries we have researched. From there we will spend the rest of our time and Christmas in Bangkok. This is the road map of our month. Each day during this month is going to look very different from the next. However as a team we are committed to start our day together with the Lord by holding daily team devotions. As for today, as I write this blog, my team is in the middle of researching hostels, finding ministries, meeting with a contact, and in prayer. We each have our individual roles but we are working collectively at the same time. At the end of each day we have feedback time where we encourage and edify each other.

Prayer Requests:

-As a team we have three overarching goals for the month with action steps in place. We want to be a team that is 1. Spirit led, 2. chooses joy, and 3. grows closer together (team unity).

-Our safety as we travel this beautiful country.

-Our health.

-Our continued individual pursuit of intimacy with the Lord. This is a very unique month on the race and we want to hear all that the Lord has to say to us.

With love,

Paola
