Changes. Some of these I knew were going to happen and others not.
1. As of May 30th I was no longer employed as a teacher. No longer saying “Wohoo summer, see you in September.” It was weird I didn’t know what to “label” myself. For 7 years I was a “teacher” and four years before that I was studying to be one. When the last day of school happened I was asked how I felt about it and honestly I had no concrete emotion. I just knew this was all part of the journey.
2. I am in the middle of moving. My apartment is filled of boxes… Lots and lots of them. We’re packing up the U-Haul on Friday and putting everything in storage. Big shout out to my mamma who flew down from NJ to help me move AGAIN. I’ll be saying good bye to Houston (hopefully temporarily) and moving further east to Port Arthur, Texas until I leave in September. I fell in love with this city and have made wonderful friends.
3. I have changed routes! We received an email 2 weeks ago about switching squads. This squad will also be a part of a documentary Adventures in Missions is trying to put together to highlight The World Race. After much prayer I knew that this was what God wanted for me. I was blessed to get to know and learn from 50+ people in my first squad and now I’ll get to be blessed knowing 50 more people in my new squad. As of right now I only know 9 countries I am going to. They are Guatemala, Nicaragua, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand/Burma, India, Nepal, Botswana, and Swaziland.
4. Not a change but I have reached my first fundraising deadline!!! Yea!! Thank you so much to those of you who have supported me through prayer and financially. I am able to attend training camp July 19th-26th. I will officially meet my squad then 🙂 My next fundraising deadline is August 18th. I need to raise another $4,000. Please continue to keep me in your prayers.
Through all of these changes and “things” to do before I leave, I can totally see God’s hand in it. It’s wonderful! I am so excited!!
Loving this song these days…
With Love,
Paola
