So I’ve shared a little of the what, the where, and the when. But WHY? Why am I going on the World Race?

That little word in the form of a question haunts me on a regular basis.  I was actually planning to share this earlier, but God is still teaching me even this week on this subject.  A week ago I would have said my main motivation for wanting to go on the world race is related to justice.  Somebody has to do something about the poverty, corruption, disease, oppression, and other darkness around this world.  I don’t believe God intended for anyone to live that way.  Especially not when we can do something about it.

I imagine I will take part in that in some way at some point. But right now, the world race is all about showing God’s love, bringing God’s glory, and sharing the gospel. It’s all about being a part of God’s plan for redemption and restoration however and wherever He needs us.  And I just might learn one or two things along the way….

And that is (mostly) why I am going. There IS the whole community aspect…living with a group of people ALL THE TIME for 11 months straight.  I can’t even begin to imagine what that will be like but I’m beyond excited!

Thanks for reading and until next time, all for His glory!
