Hi y’all! Happy New Year! 2017 was a crazy year and I cannot wait to see what is in store for 2018! Some major events happening this year include;
1. I turn 18!!!
2. I graduate high school! (FINALLY)
3. I leave for World Race!!
Though these things are all very exciting, this year I am going to strive to focus on the present, rather than sitting around waiting for the future. Every day is a gift and a blessing, and my New Year’s resolution is to be GRATEFUL for each day!
I know it’s pretty cheesy and basic, but I actually love picking a word for the year. My word for 2018 is grateful. I want to be more grateful for the simple things in my everyday life. I too often find myself wanting for more and feeling jealous of others. The life God has given me is an absolute blessing, and to be anything less than thankful is wrong. This is the verse I am going to live by this year;
1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His love endures forever.”
Although it is a New Year, we still have the same loving Jesus! This is something SO comforting to me. His love in always constant and never ending, no matter what changes, He always loves us!
Fundraising has been such a growing experience so far and I am learning so much. Though it can be very difficult at times, I am so thankful for every person who has donated. At this point I have raised around $3,000! This is purely from fundraising events, support letters, the Lindsey Lee scholarship, selling shirts, journals, and Threads of Hope bracelets (all of which are still for sale), and just kind and giving people!
