Hi friends! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. This is the place where I will be sharing my experiences on the World race Gap year, so stay tuned!
My name is Paige Thaxter and I am 17 years old. For those of you who do not yet know me, here are three facts about myself:
- I am a total outdoors nerd and love hiking, running, and camping.
- In my free time I enjoy journaling and going on picnics.
- I am currently learning guitar(it’s a process).
Now to the important stuff!
To start off, I want to give you a little bit of background. Up until a few months ago, this next year was full of unanswered questions. One of those questions being “where are you going after high school”, which I was expected to answer with a school or private university. I felt the pressure of taking the conventional route of college directly after high school, however, God did not create me to be conventional. As I took time to explore my options, God led me to World Race Gap Year; which combines missions, outdoor adventuring, and travel, three things that I am very passionate about! So this brings us here.
God has totally been training me and equipping me for this very thing over these past few years. I am THRILLED to begin this time of growing nearer to God and bringing life to people who are living in pain and hopelessness. I am seriously so blessed to have the support of my parents, sister, and all of you wonderful people.
As I travel with my team to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Botswana, South Africa, and the Philippines, I encourage you to keep me and my team in your prayers. I am so thankful for any amount of support you are able to contribute… Seriously guys, you are making a difference in the Kingdom.
I will do my best to keep you guys updated through every step of the way! Lots of love!
