I love being light. I always think I’m heavy for some reason but then everyone always laughs at me and says, “Girl you weigh nothing!” I love being light because in terms of dance this means I am always the one being lifted. The one who gets to do cool stunts. My only job is to squeeze the muscles in my body so they are firm and then trust my lifters do the rest. It’s so much fun and the outcome is always incredible.

It’s the same way in my dance with Jesus. All I have to do in the dance of life is stand firm in the Armor of God and my identity in Christ and then I trust him to do the rest. I recline in his might, in his power, in his comfort and healing, etc. He does all the heavy lifting and I get to fly.

However the truth is I am human. We all know this. In dance I do have to hold my body firm to make the lift easier on my lifters, but sometimes I falter in dance. Humans can let you down. They can drop you. I must be honest I get afraid to do some of the lifts because they can be very intimidating. If my lifters don’t do one thing right or if I don’t hold firm I could fall to my demise.

Sometimes I don’t stand firm in the Armor of God or in my identity in Christ.

Though the great thing about Jesus is… even when I don’t stand firm, even when I fail or falter … he will never drop me. So I can go around without stress or worry because my savior has me safely in his arms. I can go around being a light in the darkness without fear because even the darkness is light to him. (Bible verse) With Jesus in full control I have the ability to leave behind the heaviness of this world and so I … Alexandria Paige Henrickson-Turley … am weightless.

You may not know too much about dancing or you may not like it at all, but I can still challenge you to give your everything to Jesus. I also have to challenge myself to do this everyday. We are his bride and he is our groom and our lives are a beautiful dance with the creator of the universe. He doesn’t want you to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. He wants you to give it all to him. All your anxiety, your depression, frustrations, anger, worry, etc … lay everything down at the feet of Jesus. Then let him lift you into his arms and dance away with you. Weightless.

This was something cute but I think very powerful I’ve learned from dancing these past few weeks. I hope you all enjoyed the read.

Lastly, BIG SHOUT OUT to all my lifters who lifted me at some point or another … many thanks for not dropping me and when you did for softening my blow ;D … Esther Collins, Annie Bingham, Sophia Porter, Grace Luueschner, Kate Pogue, Alex Nelson, Kenz Meadows, Gracie Harris, and Jaime Rodrigues.

Lots of Love,

Alex Paige 🙂

Extra Info Relating to Dance:

Update – if you haven’t seen already on my Facebook or Insta page we have been doing a lot of dance ministry. Over the past few weeks we have focused in our free time on a dance we are slowly making into a music video. It’s beautifully inspired by Jaime Rodriguez and it has been a vision she has wanted to put together for a long time now – to make more aware the reality of sex trafficking in our world and then help to end it. This project is very dark so we are constantly processing and covering it with prayer. I encourage you also to pray over all the girls and boys around the world in who this tragic situation is a reality for. Pray that they come to know Jesus if they don’t already and for peace, comfort and protection. Pray that they know they are not worthless but priceless, loved and chosen by their heavenly Father. Princes and princesses of the King of Kings. Pray too for their captors. They need Jesus just as much!

The video will probably not get finished until after we leave the DR but as soon as I get the link I will post it so all of you can see it.

Other latest dance ministries we have been doing are performing for a community talent show we put together just recently and other dances we created and recorded so Hope Mountain Ministries can use them in the future to share the gospel.
