Sept 2019
Dear Family and Friends,
I came to know Christ at a young age and as I have grown in relationship with him over the years, I know I have been called by God to tell all the nations about Jesus. Therefore, I have decided that after I graduate I am going to start this journey through the World Race Gap Year.
World Race: Gap Year is a unique discipleship journey with a focus on missional living. Racers serve in three different regions of the world and grow closer to God while living in Christ-centered community to discover their calling to impact the Kingdom of God. I will be serving in Romania, India and Costa Rica.
The World Race is a program sponsored by Adventures in Missions, not an organisation itself. It is a nonprofit organisation based in Gainesville, GA. Adventures in Missions runs many short term mission programs in addition to the World Race. It is a credible organisation with over 100,000 missionaries sent since 1989.
The Great Commission commands us as Christians to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The Lord has called me to the World Race. Through this experience I want the Lord to grow me and hopefully by the end of it he will tell me where he wants me to go next, but until then I am ready to serve him and the people he loves.
In preparation for this mission, I have to raise $16,000.00 which is due by October 31st, of 2020. Training camp introduces us to our leaders and squad mates in person and prepares us for the field. Then we launch on our mission in September of 2020.
I am writing to tell you about this trip for several reasons. Primarily, I would love for you to share in the journey with me! Matthew 5:6 says “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” By giving a little bit of your treasure to God in support of his kingdom, you can see powerful impacts and your heart joins the work that occurs. Yes, you will be apart of my team and a life changing relationship for me, yourself, and countless others who your support is going to. There are several ways you can get involved to help me accomplish this.
Prayerfully – Prayer is super important! Without it none of this will be possible. Pray for me to have faith and trust in the Lord as he raises the funds for this trip and pray as I leave all comfort behind he reminds me that he is in control. Pray for my fellow squad mates in the same way. Pray for our leaders as they guide and help us on this journey. Pray for everyone whose lives we will touch as we serve and love them the way Christ would so that they may come to know him. Pray for us to grow in a deeper relationship with our Father.
Personally – I would love to tell you more about my story and missions adventure. Please feel free to ask me about my experience and how the Lord is working in my life. You can keep up with me through my contact info or my personal blog where I will update the most on the field.
