Hey everyone!! This is part 2 connecting from my last post “Praising Him in the Rain”. So before I begin with the story, I’ll begin with some updates.

Sadly, it is true that the racers who were currently on the race have been sent home due to the Coronavirus. The borders were closing down and Adventure in Missions did not want them to get stuck overseas so all 550 missionaries were sent back to the US. They are in debrief now but I don’t know what they will be doing next. This is very sad but we know God has a plan and is in control. Please pray for them. That they transition alright and that they stay strong in the Lord, being a light now in the USA.

As of right now, all future 2020 mission trips are still a Go, including my WRGY. However, my training camp and launching dates have changed. Instead of training camp being from July 8th to July 19th, the dates were pushed back to September 5th to September 16th. Racers (that’s me :D), will be departing for the field immediately after training camp. This new plan has its downfalls and is still up in the air on officialness, but again God is in control. Please pray over all this as well.

I am still fundraising!! I’ll be resending out some cool letters soon reminding people of my mission. Shirts are still being sold for $25. I get part of the profit and all earnings go to my gap year. My goal is to have sold 150 shirts before launch. I’m at my $5,000 fundraising mark. My goal is to have raised $10,000 by my birthday in June (that would be an awesome bday gift!!! :D) and then be fully funded by September 1st. I know those are some pretty big goals, especially with everything that has been going on lately, but I have a big God and I know anything is possible through him. Big thanks to everyone who has supported me prayerfully, personally, and financially so far. I couldn’t have done it without you guys!!! 😀

Beyond Four Walls…
I’ve been hearing this phrase a lot lately and it’s really amazing how our God is so big. We can only see pieces of his master plan until he decides to bring some of it together for us.
Every WRGY squad has a name for the specific route they are going on. Some of the other routes names include Mountain View Route, Indian Ocean Route, Development and Outreach Route, etc …. Do you know what our route is called?
Beyond Four Walls
My church, Fellowship Alliance Chapel, has been doing a series called the “Beyond” series. “The series is about pursuing God, reaching the lost, and impacting generations. Beyond is about making God’s vision our highest priority and trusting Him to accomplish the impossible through us, His church.”
Watching Pastor Marty’s sermon today online, he said “this is a season where our church gets to go…”
Beyond Four Walls
SO as you can see, I’ve been hearing this phrase a lot and I began thinking that God was trying to take me somewhere with it.
I was praying in my room one day and I looked up at a wall above my bed. It’s the only wall in my room that’s almost completely empty and I was thinking that I need to do something with this wall, but what?
I also have a bulletin board in my room that has things like goals, prayers, scripture, etc and as I was looking over it, I saw that one of my goals was to learn how to pray more fervently (or passionately). And then it hit me…
I have seen prayers answered in my life and in other people’s lives but I believe that God has called me to go deeper. To go further. I believe that God wants to teach me more about prayer. Also, I believe that in this stormy season with COVID-19 spreading, prayer is very much needed all over. Ephesians 3:20 says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen.” That’s our God people! He can do more than we can even ask or imagine and I have felt that God has started calling me to pray like I believe that. That I truly believe that God is going to answer me fully and powerfully and beyond the walls of my bedroom, and beyond the walls of the church and beyond all walls and into all the world.
I saw on that blank white wall what God wanted me to do. He wanted that to be a prayer wall and I thought it would be a great idea to make it into a fundraiser.
So here it is people!!! A Dollar A Prayer
( Now you guys may be thinking… “What?! You expect me to pay you to pray for me?! No way that’s crazy! Prayer should be free!” And I would totally agree with you. But it’s not a lot I’m asking for, just $1, and remember this isn’t my money, this is God’s money. You are not just supporting me to go on this amazing traveler’s journey – NO – you are supporting me to go and spread the gospel to those in the world who don’t know Christ and who are without hope in a broken generation. By subscribing to this blog, and following my WRGY insta… by following my journey you yourselves will get to see the results of your giving. Whether it just be the planting of the seeds or the actual harvesting, your support will reach others all around the world.
If you are not a follower of Christ, and you are giving $1 a prayer, then good for you! Again, I will not only be helping these people spiritually, but also physically and emotionally. We will be doing community projects to give food, water and clothes to the poor, will be rebuilding houses and communities, we will be loving on people and helping them in any ways we can. So even if you’re not all about Jesus, your support will also be of help to them. )
For one dollar, which can either be given through my blog, cash, or my venmo @Alexandria-Henrickson, you can shoot me a text, message, or email and I’ll write down your prayer on a sticky note and put it on my wall. And I promise, that everyday I will get down on my knees and pray that prayer for you, as your fellow sister in Christ, and I believe that we are going to see God move beyond the walls of my room. I want that whole wall to eventually be covered in beautiful sticky notes filled with prayers. Inside the box, outside the box, on the ceiling, wherever. LOL 😀
This fundraiser will last as long as it needs to. There are no time limits to prayers but if one of yours gets answered, Praise and Glory be to God! Shoot me a text and I’ll put it in an answered prayer envelope. Also keep in mind that God doesn’t always answer prayers the way we want them to be answered. Try to keep an open mind and an open heart.
Just think – 500 prayers = $500 towards my missions – SO EXCITING!!! XD
Unlike me who can jump up and fit into a box on my wall lol, our God cannot be contained. He cannot be put into a box and many times we try to do just that, but he always proves He’s so much bigger. And yes… that also means that God is bigger than COVID-19.
