Who am I?

I guess I’m still figuring that one out, too.

At a surface level, I am a 24-year-old social studies teacher at the high school that I attended. I am a graduate of Calvin College. I am a part of an incredible and supportive family. I spend my free time volunteering with our local Young Life chapter, attending sporting events, and hanging out with family.

At a deeper level, as I have been discovering, I am a helper, defender, and altruist (Enneagram Type 2w1, Myers Briggs Type ISFJ). My desire is to be loved, and out of that desire I am willing to serve others to the point of depletion. I am learning to be content in the love of my heavenly father—whose love is unconditional. I am passionate about social justice and I love working with and serving teenagers. I love coffee, running, hugs, puppies, dancing, sunsets, and swimming under the stars. But, most importantly, I am a daughter of the king, a child of God. This is where the roots of my identity lie—even when I fail to remember. It is God’s love for me that keeps me stable in my own insecurities.

I am incredibly excited to be on this journey, to jump into the unknown and to trust that God will sustain me and to live a life that is kingdom minded and full of love and whimsy.

 Welcome to my story.
