Hello from Africa! Here is a brief update on where I’ve been all month:
I spent this past January in Ethiopia with most of my squad working with an organization that is one of the few lights in a community that can be hostile to the Gospel. While Christianity is dominant in many other regions of Ethiopia, this particular region has a high concentration of Muslims and people who practice the local animistic religions. Witchcraft also has a heavy presence in the area. Because their neighbors don’t agree with their religious beliefs, many have sought to sue them for rights to their land in efforts to drive them out. Yet, this ministry is still doing amazing things in this community.
The ministry provides water to their community with a well they built on their compound, distributes apple trees the community, and is working on a large reforestation project in their village. On their compound, they house about 25 orphans and are laying the foundation for a learning center for disabled people.
This month we served in many ways, helping them cut their grass by sickle, sifting dirt, watering their gardens and apple trees, making bricks, and by spending time with the women and children who live on site.
Because of open opposition in the area, the government of Ethiopia placed an internet block on the region. This is why I’ve been unable to post updates this month.
Please join me in praying for this ministry as they continue to build God’s Kingdom here here in Ethiopia.
**I will be posting my blogs from this month over the next several days, so stay tuned.
