To say the last few weeks have been a whirlwind would be an understatement. Lots of ups and downs have happened bringing deep reflection which lead to gratitude for this past season.
Need a quick recap? Here ya go: I left for Tennessee where we were having thanksgiving break at another team leaders house on November 21st thinking we’d be back on November 30th. All was going great. A few days later, we found out we had been exposed to Covid first hand while still on campus and were all asked to quarantine for two weeks which pushed our return date back to December 8th. We got used to the new flow and had a great thanksgiving with the huge group quarantining in the same house (see picture below). Then the Friday after Thanksgiving, we found out the rest of the semester with Gap C would be moved virtual due to lots of exposure through all four squads. This was quite sad and unexpected. Yet we adjusted again and reflected on God’s faithfulness. Then after just shy of three weeks at Nathan’s house doing virtual sessions with the squad, the fall semester came to a close and all of the leadership teams gathered back in Gainseville for a small debrief. We had a great time, lots of good conversations, laughter, and hard see you laters. Now I’m back home and preparing to launch with Gap23 come January (read my last blog to learn about that!).
Okay now that we’re all caught up, I want to thank Gap C for everything we’ve shared together the last three and a half months. When I end a season in life, gratitude is one of the most important things to me so I hope as you read this, you reflect on your last season and be grateful for what’s come from it. The easy and hard stuff. The happy and sad. The joyful and angry times. The gains and losses. All the stuff: reflect on it and give all the glory to God. If you’re struggling with seeing the good of an unexpected outcome, ask God to give you His vision for it and listen. He always speaks when we present ourselves in front of Him and wait expectantly. So after that little tangent, here’s to Gap C:
Thank you Gap C for all you taught me. Being able to lead you was an honor and a privilege which God blessed me with. You reminded me how important it is to have constant hunger to learn more from the Lord. Your constant prayer deepened my prayer life. When you asked me questions, I felt your deep trust towards me and willingness to listen. I think back and smile at all the times around the meal tables. I will always remember the many games like Catan, Dutch Blitz, and others happening each night.
Gap C, I will never be able to express my deep deep gratitude fully to you all for what this season has been to me. This includes everyone involved: all 22 racers, 6 alumni team leaders, 2 squad leaders, 2 coaches, and 1 squad mentor. All of you have a special place in my heart and know I am always here for you if you need absolutely anything, even if it’s just a call to catch up!
I love you with all my heart,
Paige 🙂
