This week our storytellers encouraged us to introduce someone who has impacted us while here in Guatemala. It thought why not It sounded like a fun way to bring y’all into my life here even more. So meet Josefina….
Josefina is an incredible daughter of God. She is constantly looking for ways to bless our team and others we run into during ministry. I like to call Josefina our ministry mom which fits perfectly!
When we step into house visits, Josefina looks for ways she can bless the mom and help with the kids. She helps guide the conversation when we get timid or lost through miscommunication between languages. She encourages you to go deeper and build connections. She understands what you need and what others need and looks for ways to fill the need.
Since being with Josefina, we have seen her grow as well. We’ve seen the Lord lighten up her eyes and speak life over her. We’ve seen her grow deeper with the discipleship group she runs with other moms in the village. You can see the hope and faith Josefina has in the Lord when you look into her sweet eyes.
A story that completely shows Josefina’s loving character is this: I mentioned Olivia, my squad leader, had been wanting to get her hair cute for a few months in front of Josefina. She immediately started looking at Olivia’s hair and offering advice since Olivia had mentioned she didn’t think it was very healthy. Josefina then went out to the small tienda and bought Olivia a sample hair treatment. Josefina then proceeded to wash Olivia’s hair for her and comb it out. It was such a sweet and motherly thing to do. Josefina did it all with joy that she could help Olivia.
There are many more stories of how Josefina has impacted out lives and how she lives life for Jesus. But that one with Olivia is one of my favorites because it is so pure and joy filled.
Josefina is an incredible daughter of God who walks so beautifully in it. There is a lot more I could say about Josefina, but so much of it, there are no words to explain how amazing she is and how thankful I have met her. Thank you Jesus for blessing me with Josefina as my ministry mom while here in Guatemala.
Thank you for all your continual support and I hope you enjoyed this post about one of my friends!
Lots of love and prayers,
Paige :):):):)
