Hey All!! So I’ve been in Ecuador for a week now and wanted to share a little bit of what it has been like. I want to share about where I live now, who I am surrounded by, and my new ministry.
Where I Live:
My squad now lives on the out skirts of the HUGE city Quito in Ecuador. We are staying with the organization Inca Link which is found all over Central and South America. Their mission is to reach the youth of Latin America with the irresistible love of Jesus Christ. (Check out this link if you want to learn more: www.incalink.org) Inca Link has a house base in Quito that AIM pairs with when they send teams. We live in a big house that has a living room, kitchen, and eating area on the main floor. Upstairs, there are many different rooms with various amounts of bunk beds and then bathrooms and showers. All the rooms are super nice and the whole house is very homey and cozy! I love it!
Who I am Surrounded by:
The ministry hosts/base elders are so amazing here! They have been with AIM for almost ten years and love accepting teams to work with. They live in a house next to ours. They come to the house to cook meals for us during the week, help with the details of ministry, and other tasks that make living here possible. I am so thankful of these people and am excited to get to know them more throughout these months.
This is one of the three dogs that live at the house. I’ve gone on a few runs with her, and it’s been great!
What I am Doing:
MINISTRY ANNOUNCEMENTS……
My team and I are working with an organization called Cru Quito. This is an organization which is also found in the States and other countries. Their goal is to go into high school and college aged schools to build relationships with students and eventually share the Gospel. Majority of the time we will work in one school being paired with an English teacher to build relationships with students and help with learning English. We will also get a chance to visit a few other schools and help Cru pioneer to new places. I am excited to be working in a school and building relationships that show these students the love that God has for them.
The phrase the main school we’ll be at teaches by!
Along with this, my team will get some time to help around the house and bless our hosts in what ever way possible. It will be great being able to build stronger relationships with our hosts!
So there ya have it! That’s what Ecuador is like so far. I can’t wait to share more as the weeks go on!
I ask for prayers that my team and squad would stay focused and present these last three months because the excitement of going home is beginning to set in. Thank you so much for all of the support!!
Lots of Love!
