Hi friends!!!
Well holy cats…big news here!…
So for those of you who don’t know, starting in October, I will be traveling on an 11 month mission trip, to 11 different countries called the World Race. This decision has been a big one, and I am so beyond blessed to be taking this journey as my next step in life. Recently graduating has given me all the feels for leaving the place I called home for the last four years of my life, Eau Claire. I built many friendships that will last a lifetime, and going to miss these people dearly. But I know that this next step is going to be one of the most exciting times of my life, even after college! Leaving everything and everyone I know and love is a hard thing to do, but I know my choice of doing so, is giving me the opportunity to see this beautiful world God created. I was born to wander, but in doing so, helping others. As some of you may not necessarily understand why I am doing this, I felt called to go. Not only go, but serve.
There is something crazy about doing this, but something so amazing at the same time. I will not be living in the nicest places, but will be serving raw communities around me that are facing issues much worse than here in America. Throughout this trip my teammates and I will be partnering with churches and ministries in the local communities to work with people of many different issues and challenges. This could range from working in orphanages, to ministering to people trapped in prostitution and human trafficking. I will face many challenges during this trip, but am working towards restoring love and hope in these communities.
I chose to partake in this trip because of many reasons. But the most important ones to me are because I have a love to see this world, but more importantly to share the love God has shared with me, to the many nations of the world. I have been blessed back at home, and I want to share some of my gifts and love to others.
I no way intend to “change” completely these big issues in just the time of my trip, but I hope to help start small changes in these communities, and if not that, share the Lord’s love to people. I know that I am in no way perfect myself, and will never be. Being a Christian is about sharing God’s love He has for us, in telling and showing. This journey will be one of the single hardest things I will do in my life, but I know it’s not about me, it’s about the Kingdom. I am so excited to go on the World Race, and I can’t wait to share what the Lord will be doing through me for others.
I hope you all will follow up on what I will be doing in these 11 months of my life on this blog. I am also going to try to post video blogs (a Vlog) of what I will be doing to give you more of a real visual.
Also, if you would like to help fund me as I prepare for this journey, there is an online donate button through my blog where you can help financially support me. This is a lot for me to ask, but anything is appreciated. Thank you for reading all this, and I hope you continue to as I prepare for my next adventure!
Love,
Paige
