This month in Zambia has been incredible and I can’t believe it is coming to a close so quickly.
My whole squad has been together serving the same ministry – Jzone Africa- all month. Sanderson and Loweendo (the starters of the organization) and their team of people are involved in many different types of ministries in Livingstone and the surrounding villages.
Our job for the month was to help them prepare a plot of land they have recently purchased to use for day camps. Their heart and vision behind it is to create a safe place in the community for kids to come.
Our days were spent slashing grass (why buy a lawn mower when you have 38 able bodied lawn mowers, ha), picking up endless pieces of broken beer bottles, digging out a volleyball court and soccer field, and most importantly putting up a fence.
It was hard work, our bodies were tired but it just forced us to rely even more on the Lord for strength.
As we all worked on and prayed over the land, the Lord keep speaking to each of us and giving us visions of what the future holds for this park. A theme that was woven throughout it all was that we were redeeming this land for His glory to be shown.
By the end of the month we had everything done and were able two host two small day camps. It was so fun to have a small taste of what will happen on this land.
We may not ever be around to see it, but this land that we worked on everyday will be a land where joy, healing, rest and salvation can be found.
We helped put up a fence around the perimeter and at the same time got to sow seeds of prayer for a spiritual hedge of protection over all that will happen there.
We laughed and joked with one another as we worked and at the same time sowed seeds of joy over every inch of ground.
We helped each other clean scraps and cuts that come alongside physical labor and sharp tools and at the same time got to sow seeds of physical and spiritual healing into the atmosphere.
We were doing way more than cutting and raking grass, picking up trash and digging holes for fence posts, because when you are doing work for the Kingdom, everything you do has an eternal impact.
My squad and I leave for Asia in a few days. Now that’s crazy! We would love your prayers as we all adjust to a completely new culture and split up again into different ministries all over the Philippines.
Also, my birthday is next month. I would love nothing more for my birthday than to be fully funded! Only $2,300 left till I reach that. If you feel led to support just click the bar at the top of this page. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support!
