God blew my mind this past week at training camp.  He showed up in big ways and I walk away from that place realizing that the God I serve is really who He says He is.  I also realize that there is actually very little I know about Him.  This deeper appreciation of God came in the way He showed up at camp.

He showed up in big numbers.  I came together with roughly 250 other young adults, all with the same call.  We were all called to go.  We were all accepting that call.

He showed up in the relationships that were made at camp.  I was placed on a squad with about 40 people.  We were "X squad."  We had never met before, but by the end of day two, bonds began forming.  We became a family.  The love I felt from my squadmates was unmatched.

He showed up in new ways in my life.  I was actually able to feel the presents of God.  This was probably the most meaningful thing that happened this week.  I realized God deep love for me.  In a time of prayer and a calling of the Holy Spirit God revealed to me His purpose for this trip.  It wasn't in what I was going to do for Him.  It wasn't in the lives that would be touched through this trip.  No, the reason I was called to go was God's desire to get to know His daughter.  God, the God of the universe, desires to know me.  He desires to spend time with me.  He desires time with me away from all the distractions here.  That is why He is calling me away.  Who am I that I might except this amazing invitation?  I stood there in the presence of God's deep love for me.  I didn't know what to do.  My mind was literally blown.  Tears rolled down my cheeks as I excepted God's love.  Then something amazing happened.  My heart began to beat.  It beat harder and harder, faster and faster.  It was an uncontrollably beating.  God made me heart beat.  He made it race.  It felt as though my heart was going to burst.  It was a truly incredible experience.

I am home now.  I still have a few weeks before launch.  I can't wait to begin the adventure that lies ahead.  I am excited for my walk with God through it all.

Here is my team!  Team formation was a large portion of this past week.  We were all chosen to be here.  I am so excited to serve alongside them.  From left to Right: Cara, Krista, Michael, Brian, Shelley and Kiersten.
