Reality.  It hits sometimes.

This will be my home for 11 months.  A mire tent.  I look at this and think, I am in for the adventure of a lifetime.  It is true.  Part of our packing list included our own tent.  I bought this tent Saturday night.  I got it home and I had to set it up, and yes of course I slept in it!  Ol' Karl and I had a slumber party in my tent.  You could call it a christening of sorts.  Karl is a Valentine's gift from Ryan two years ago.  He is the biggest bear I have ever seen in my whole entire life.  He is nice, but he likes to hog all the blankets and he sheds quite a bit.

As I lay there, I thought about my trip.  Looking at the ceiling of my tent, there is only misquotes mesh covering the top. (No worries the tent came with a full rainfly, a tarp like device, secured over the top of the tent in case we are due for inclement weather…..  A.K.A torrential downpours.  I hear from previous racers that they happen frequently, and it was suggested to make sure our tent came standard with one.)  Since the netting is transparent, I will have the perfect view of the stars at night.

Before I drifted off to sleep.  I said a prayer in my little tent.  I asked for God's protection over the tent, my home.  I asked him to have it be a safe place to rest while on my trip.  I know he heard me because I felt a peace.
