I am home!
It is hard to believe that this crazy adventure that I have been living the past 11 months is finally over. I have been home for a week now. I was welcomed home by my family in the airport last Saturday, it was the first time I got to see my little niece Victoria. What a little cutie. My heart raced as I rounded the corner at the very exact spot I said good bye 11 months ago to see my little family waiting for me. I cannot begin to explain the love I have for them in my heart. Wow, it was good to see them!
All the way home that day I had to keep closing and opening my eyes to see if I was really seeing what I was really seeing! It all seems so surreal.
Seeing family has been the best thing about being home. By far it has been awesome to catch up with them and see where there life has taken them the past 11 months. It is beautiful to see the transformation that has occurred here while I have been away.
One thing that I didn’t realize was just how beautiful my home is here in Wisconsin. On the ride home from the airport I kept saying things like, “Mom, there is a pine tree!!!” and “Look at all the corn fields!!” These are things that I haven’t seen in months, and now I am finding wonder in them. Even just the sound of the song birds in the morning. I find myself saying over and over again, “Wisconsin is so beautiful.”
Perhaps the beauty was there the whole time, it just took me being away for a really long time to really appreciate it.
Hmmmm……
