It will come as no surprise to my mother that I've been struggling with lathering myself up with sunscreen on a daily basis.

I've been able to stay free of any major burns yet, but check out this tan-line from my Chacos.

As I gazed at my feet one day, which I am wont to do, I realized that many parallels can be drawn between my spiritual life and my feet.

In a way, chacos can very much represent the World Race. Truthfully, I resisted buying them, because they seem to be the only shoe that World Racers (and traveling hipsters in general) latch onto. But dag bernit, how can you resist their durability… and that guaranteed customer satisfaction; forget about it!

As my feet continue to receive these tan-lines, I truly want the rest of my life to reflect the impact that the World Race has had (and will have), for these impactful 11 months.

Much like the sun and dirt that has affected the rest of my foot, there will be a lot of external forces coming at me over the next 10 months, and for the remainder of my days on this earth. But even though my life may appear at times to be filled with dirt, grime, sin, and muck; I want the spirit of Christ to still show an imprint on my life, based on my actions, my presence, or my words.

Embrace the tan-line that Christ has left on your life. Much like these filthy feet, your life may not seem to be in perfect condition, but strip away what appears on the surface, and there should remain an imprint, representing the sacrifice that our Lord made for us.

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"

Isaiah 52:7
