Here's a few bullet points about myself. List is subject to change once I think of more you should know.
- My full name is Owen Thomas Siebring.
- I'm 26 years old… 27 when the World Race starts.
- I live in Waterloo, IA, but will claim Cedar Falls as my home. They're basically the same city, only Cedar Falls is more awesome.
- I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2009.
- I work at the NBC affiliate in Waterloo, KWWL, as a news photographer and sports reporter. I love the sports stuff, and aspire to do more with sports reporting in the future.
- I have an awesome family: Older sister Andrea is a missionary in Lebanon with her husband Paul and daughter Lenora. Younger sister Keriann is a nursing student at Marshalltown Community College. Younger brother Grant is a Freshman at MCC. My parents are great, and are incredibly supportive of our missions work.
- I've found a great home church in Cedar Falls; Orchard Hill Church. It's been a major factor in my growth as a Christian through my college years, and has played a huge part in my life when it comes to mission work. First real mission trips were through Orchard Hill, and my life has never been the same since.
- I really do love sports. You'll find few fans bigger than myself for the UNI Panthers, Boston Red Sox, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Avalanche.
- I'm not good with spiders. And I don't mean that in a joking way, I really am quite arachnaphobic. I'm excited about everything that goes along with the World Race, but when I think of the spiders I will encounter… I will not do well in those situations. They reduce me to the bravery of a 3-year old.
- I'm good at 3 things that I'm not afraid to brag about: 1. Parallel parking. 2. Making mac & cheese. I make the best macaroni & cheese you'll ever eat, and don't try to convince yourself otherwise. 3. Minesweeper. Worthless skill, and outdated computer game, but I'm unstoppable at minesweeper.
- I love bullet points.
More to come later I'm sure.
