So this weekend we were in San Pedro de los Milagros and every time that we went out to do ministry or go for a walk we would be escorted by dogs.
Here’s the thing with the homeless dogs of Medellin and San Pedro they are super nice! They are pretty clean and super friendly. Dogs will have their blocks; like Bruno at the bakery shop, Negro and Luna at the bus terminal, two dogs outside the Catholic Church, and so on and so on. People know their names and are tolerable of their existence and it works.
But back to what I was saying for some reason when a dog sees us walking they will walk with us all day and protect us too. I like to think of them as our guides. Something about their presence is so calming and kind but that’s it.
Así que este fin de semana estábamos en San Pedro de los Milagros y cada vez que salíamos a hacer un ministerio o salíamos a pasear, los perros nos escoltaban.
¡Aquí está la cosa con los perros sin hogar de Medellín y San Pedro que son súper amables! Son bastante limpios y super amables. Los perros tendrán sus bloques; como Bruno en la panadería, Negro y Luna en la terminal de autobuses, dos perros fuera de la Iglesia Católica, y así sucesivamente. La gente sabe sus nombres y son tolerables de su existencia y funciona.
Pero volviendo a lo que estaba diciendo por alguna razón, cuando un perro nos ve caminando, caminarán con nosotros todo el día y también nos protegerán. Me gusta pensar en ellos como nuestros guías. Algo acerca de su presencia es tan calmante y amable, pero eso es todo.
