Today we said goodbye to our first host-family of the 11 month long journey. When we first walked into their home Pastor William said, “We are now a family. By the end of our time together you will be our children and we will be your parents.” This blog is an homage to their family.
Madre Cristina you walk with such an elegant grace. Never in a hurry you take your time and time stands still for you. A woman of power, authority, and dignity you walk in the background but it is in the foreground where you belong. A woman who gave her heart to us and loved us as if her own. Madre Cristina you are a woman with a heart of servant always helping us and most likely spoiling us. Your order to me was to take care of your daughters and I will stand by that order till time allows me to.
Pastor Willi thank you for opening your home and church to us like you did. You took the role of mentor and teacher to all 14 of us. You have shown us what true discipleship is and looks like. You are a diligent man who acts on God’s behalf. Your willingness and yes to God has already made change in the city of Medellin but greater is still to come. You are a kind man an honorable man. Under you greater leaders will come to lead the people of your city and in turn country. Thank you for pushing us off the cliff, trusting and believing in us. Thank you for loving us so genuinely.
Hoy nos despedimos de nuestra primera familia anfitriona del viaje de 11 meses. Cuando entramos por primera vez en su casa, el pastor William dijo: “Ahora somos una familia. Al final de nuestro tiempo juntos, ustedes serán nuestros hijos y nosotros seremos sus padres ”. Este blog es un homenaje a su familia.
Madre Cristina te camina con una gracia tan elegante. Nunca a toda prisa te tomas tu tiempo y el tiempo se detiene para ti. Una mujer de poder, autoridad y dignidad camina en segundo plano, pero es en el primer plano donde pertenece. Una mujer que nos entregó su corazón y nos amó como si fuera la suya. Madre Cristina eres una mujer con un corazón de sierva que siempre nos ayuda y, muy probablemente, nos mima. Tu orden para mí fue cuidar a tus hijas y yo cumpliré con ese orden hasta que el tiempo me lo permita.
Pastor Willi, gracias por abrirnos su hogar e iglesia como lo hizo usted. Tomaste el papel de mentor y maestro para todos nosotros 14. Nos has mostrado cómo es el verdadero discipulado y cómo se ve. Eres un hombre diligente que actúa en nombre de Dios. Su voluntad y sí a Dios ya han hecho un cambio en la ciudad de Medellín, pero aún está por venir. Eres un hombre amable, un hombre honorable. Debajo de ti, líderes mayores vendrán a dirigir a la gente de tu ciudad y, a su vez, a tu país. Gracias por empujarnos por el precipicio, confiar y creer en nosotros. Gracias por amarnos tan genuinamente.
