Imagine growing up and never learning how to read because your family couldn’t afford to send you to school.
Imagine never reading a book, a poem, a news article, letter, or love note. Imagine never being able to read the one book that you desire to read the most because it’s through that book that you would get to learn and understand God a bit more.
During our time in San Pedegral we came across an elderly couple who lived just that. They were unable to read and as a result in all their years of being Christ followers they never read one word from the bible.
One of my squad mates Megan from team Fiercely Loved was able give them a gift that would forever change their lives. Megan partnered with an organization who’s desire is to make the New Testament assessable to every people group in their own language through a solar charged audible bible.
When we meet them Megan knew that God had placed them in our paths so that she can give them one of the Bible’s.
When the time had come to give this couple this gift it’s was an overwhelming occasion.
We stepped outside the church and Megan started to explain to them about the organization; when she told them that she wanted to give them one they started to cry. This would be the first time that they would be able to hear the New Testament on their own.
Their response so pure with their upbringing, “What have we done that God would bless us so much. How could we ever pay you back for this great gift.”
Their story is one of great struggle and brokenness one that God invades and shines through.

Imagínese crecer y nunca aprender a leer porque su familia no puede permitirse enviarlo a la escuela.
Imagínese nunca leer un libro, un poema, un artículo de noticias, una carta o una nota de amor. Imagina que nunca podrás leer el libro que deseas leer más porque es a través de ese libro que aprenderás y entenderás a Dios un poco más.
Durante nuestro tiempo en San Pedegral, nos encontramos con una pareja de ancianos que vivió precisamente eso. No pudieron leer y, como resultado de todos los años de ser seguidores de Cristo, nunca leyeron ni una palabra de la Biblia.
Una de mis compañeras de equipo Megan del equipo Fiercely Loved pudo darles un regalo que cambiaría sus vidas para siempre. Megan se asoció con una organización que desea hacer que el Nuevo Testamento sea evaluable para cada grupo de personas en su propio idioma a través de una biblia audible cargada de energía solar.
Cuando nos encontramos con ellos, Megan supo que Dios los había colocado en nuestros caminos para que pudiera darles uno de los bíblicos.
Cuando llegó el momento de dar a esta pareja este regalo, fue una ocasión abrumadora.
Salimos de la iglesia y Megan comenzó a explicarles sobre la organización; cuando les dijo que quería darles uno, se echaron a llorar. Esta sería la primera vez que podrían escuchar el Nuevo Testamento por su cuenta.
Su respuesta tan pura con su educación, “¿Qué hemos hecho para que Dios nos bendiga tanto? ¿Cómo podríamos pagarte por este gran regalo? “
Su historia es una de gran lucha y quebrantamiento que Dios invade y resplandece.
