*I would like to apologize for not blogging in the past month, the wifi in Ghana was not my friend but I have blogs for you to read and catch up on all God did in Ghana*

That’s the question God had for me this month.  Every time I went on a short-term mission trip, God would always give me a word for the trip, Colombia: Freedom, Haiti: Love, Colombia: Release. Being on the Race, with eleven countries, I was excited to get eleven words in a year, but God is far bigger than that; praise Him for that.  Instead of getting just a word, God gave me letters of what’s to come, expectations, warnings, things that I should be doing in advance and the freedom and hardship that was to come.

So, each month before entering the country or before arriving at our home for the month, God would take me and reveal His letter to me and every month without missing a step, the letters would come to past.  Some letters I enjoyed more than others but every moment I was reminded that I was not alone, and that God has already walked this path that I am discovering, nothing is new to Him and He loves me enough to give me what I like to call a heads up.

Month six, New year, Ghana, boy was I happy to be in Ghana, I have heard so many wonderful things about Ghana and I have numerous friends and family who are Ghanaian, so I was excited to get to see their country. God gave me His monthly letter and I was happy and apprehensive about it (all letters include some from of stretching and after Cote D’Ivoire I just needed a break), but plot twist,

God: What do you want from me?

Me: HUH!?!

God: What do you want from me this month?

Me: I don’t get it? I got your letter, that’s good.

God: Woman!! What do you want from me?!

Me: Lord, I don’t know!

God: Okay, I know every month I give you a letter, but I want to give you more. A true friend always wants to give their friend more and that’s what I want to give you.

Me: Huh…. Well umm hmmm Fun

God: Fun?

Me: Yeah, I want fun this month, I want to have fun in a new way, I want to dance without worrying if I have the right shoes on or the right clothes or bra. I want to discover you, the WR (World Race) and life in a new way and through FUN!

God: okay, it will be fun. Promise me that you will not only look for it this month but take it with you until I call you home to me.

Me: Okay!

Monday morning came, and it was time to find out what classroom we were going to be teaching in and your girl got 5th grade. I would be assisting Aunty Sheila.  During free period, which in this case ment, the teacher did not show up for one of the subjects, so I took them outside, the boys decided on playing football (soccer) and the girls wanted to teach me one of their dances/action games.  I was soo excited to be able to watch them play and learn a new Ghanaian game, the girls wanted me to join in and I did just to see the joy on their face and off we went jumping, clapping, laughing and in that moment God was like, my love, this is fun. Fun is not just enjoying yourself but joining in the joy of others even if you have no idea what you are doing. Fun is making a fool of yourself but having people feel special and important because you choose to allow yourself to look like a fool.  Fun is enjoying the life and moments I have set before you and living them out without a worry or care.

Yep, its that simple; Fun! For the past three weeks, I choose into fun, whether that was me running around getting covered in Africa’s red dirt, or jumping up and down looking like a handicapped flamingo or even almost falling due to one of the kiddies running into me to give me a hug (its part of a color game).

Fun is being free and enjoying the life and moments God has created for me and me for.  Fun is being free to fully allowing the world to see me enjoying moments outwardly. Fun is me laughing out loud in the moments that are not politically correct to laugh in.  Fun is jumping to the point where my knees hurt while also laughing to the point of stomach pains. Fun is me experience God through a new lens, a lens of being reminded that He created all good things INCLUDING FUN!!

God created fun.  Sometimes I think we (including myself) see God as this authority figure that does not have fun, when, He created it and who better to understand something than the creator of it. I challenge everyone to have fun, to look for it, to create it, to pray for it, to ask God to give it, to have fun by running in the rain and not caring about your hair that will dry, to dance randomly through the city streets and not care if strangers, who you will never ever see again in your lifetime are watching you.

Fun is Freedom!!

Updates

Be in continuous pray for my team and squad, we have been under spiritual attacks from the enemy and would love for you to join us in pray against him and his attacks.  Pray for unity within our new teams and for our squad to dig deeper into what God truly has for each as a squad and individually.

We are heading to month 7 of our race, pray that we stay present on the race and not worry about what is going to happen when we get back home, for us to speak more about where we are and less about where we hope to be when we get back home.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who has been part of my financial support, words could never express how my heart feels about your partnership and sacrifice.

I am ALMOST FULLY FUNDED!! I have $1,187 more to raise, how amazing is that. If 24 people donate $50 , I would be fully funded.  What an amazing testimony to be a part of.
