Last month in Guatemala one of my squad-mates, Taylor Stevens came up with a wonderful ministry idea; bubbles and hugs in the central park.

Central park in Chimaltenango (Chimal) is where the homeless, alcoholics, shoe shiners and children who parents are there all day selling different products to make ends meet.  The children are there as long as their parents are there.

I decided this would be such a fun and simple way to get to know the locals and connect with them even if we don’t speak the same language.  So off I went, picked up a tube of bubbles and started blowing away.

Dani is one of the children that are at the park with his mother from sunrise to sunset, he is almost two, shy, sweet and usually tired from being there all day.  On this day, I decided to meet him where he was at, so I sat on the stairs and showed him how to blow bubbles.

At first he looked at me like this lady is crazy, what does she think she is doing. He was so confuse to why would someone sit on this dirty floor when she has the choice not too.
I continued to encourage him by call his name and showing him how to blow bubbles.

“If you plan to do evil, you will be lost; if you plan to do good, you will receive unfailing love and faithfulness.” Proverbs 14:22
And just like that he took a few steps closer and before I knew it, I had a new friend. A friend that just needed someone to get on his level, guide him, encourage him, and wait for him to be ready to do it on his own.

That’s one of the many things I have been learning on this mission, I have learned that not ever one is ready and that’s okay, I am only here to do my part. So I get on their level by listening to their story to figure out where they are at so I can sit with them, get on their level, encourage them and wait.

Waiting for them through pray, through conversation, through getting to know them on a deeper level, through laughter and sometimes through them venting about everything that is going wrong.

I get on their level by understanding their perspective, even if i do not fully agree with it, its still their perspective and to them that is truth and their reality.

So get one someones level and encourage them, pray with them, support them where they are at and wait with them.

This week ONLY I am asking for you to wait with me, sit with me, partner with me.  For me to continue being on mission, I need to fundraise a total of $17, 617 & right now I am only at $10, 495, so I need your partnership, I need you to sit with me by partnering with me financially.

I am even making it FUN, instead of blowing bubbles like I did with Dani, I am asking you to CATCH A BUBBLE (S)!!

What does that mean…well I have 86 bubbles that need to be caught!!

Pick a bubble, donate the amount in the bubble (14=$14) and you have successfully caught a bubble, sat with me, partner with and supported me in continuing this mission where I get to meet people where they are at, sit down with them, get on their level, encourage them and love them…

love them by listening to them, speaking with them, laughing with them, crying with them praying with them and playing with them.

What happens if I don’t get fully funded by November 30th…Well I would have to head back home early & your girl does not want that!!

Help keep me on the field by catching a bubble(s), donate the amount in the bubble(s) (11=$11, 20=$20) and you become part of Dani’s story and all the other Dani’s I meet as I continue this race.

How do you donate you ask, click on the orange button DONATE in the right hand corner of my blog, PayPal, check.
