We are 12 days from Christmas and I am 8 days into Cote d’Ivoire, Africa!!!!!
Yes we made it, safe, sound and finally recuperated from jetlag. It took us 1 twenty minute bus ride to the airport in Nicaragua , 1 two hour flight to Miami, 1 eight hour flight to Portugal, 1 five hour flight into Cote d’Ivoire, 1 car ride to our pick up spot, 2 barge (boat rides) to a village, 1 taxi ride to the bus station, 1 ten hour bus ride into the village and about a 30 minute walk into the remote village that my new team and I will be staying in for the month.
ohh yes new team!! I had to say see you later to team lighthouse (I will stalk you, I mean love you forever) and hello to Oaks of righteousness (all female team) of 5 amazing women of God.
What this month should look like, once a week Wi-Fi to post blogs. yep and it’s a quick less than 10 minute process, your girl is happy not to have to worry about checking emails FINALLY!!!!!!!
The people of Cote d’Ivoire have taken hospitality to a whole new level and serve us in abundance. we are surrounded by about 20 people a day, 24/7 (introvert in me is still trying to figure out what this means) , we have a room where I can go for alone time and Jesus time.
Funny update: my teammates have lost me haha, only because I fit in and I enjoy watching walk by me as they look for me as I sit on the porch in the middle of our new Cote d’Ivoire family.
