camp hope!! the place where I have spent my days the past month or so & where I will finish ministry on the world race.
camp hope is a day program for children with special needs. their ages, diagnoses, & needs range but are all treated with an immense amount of love. the kids are broken up into five different classes each called different fruits of the spirit. mine being benignidad which means kindness. in my class are four boys & two girls. like I mentioned earlier, there are a large range of diagnoses among the children but the one that all my students have in common is an intelectual disabilities. even though they have similar challenges, each one is so different & that is my favorite part. you quite honestly never know what you’re going to get. my next blog post is a day in the life so it gives you a glimpse of what happens but I can assure you it is never a dull moment. I plan on writing more about this place & the people but for right now I just wanted to introduce it 🙂
