Wow! As most of you know I’ve been home for a little over three months now. It’s crazy to think that just a few months ago I was on the other side of the world. But anyway I figured I’d write a short blog to update you all on what I’m doing now. And also a simple, but HUGE thank you for walking alongside me through this past year!
The past three months home have been great. I’ve caught up on much needed quality time with family, had a reunion in Georgia with all my World Race travel peeps [which ended up turing into a three week road trip through Georgia, North and South Carolina, and a spur of the moment drive to my aunt’s in Illinois], and got to eat crawfish and king cake. So I’d say reentry to the States has treated me well.
A lot of people have asked, “What’s next?” To be honest I really have no clue right now and I am at peace with that. I’m currently helping a good friend open a crawfish restaurant near Alexandria, which I am loving. In time other than that I have been cleaning houses and filling my time but taking it easy all at once. I’m learning how to put full heart into any job I do; not just take a job as something to make money or a task to do, but a way to serve and love others. Even with cleaning houses I have found joy in knowing that a family gets to come home to an organized home after a long day or a mother may get an extra day to rest or spend time with her children rather than continuing to put “clean the house” on a check list that keeps adding up.
Crawfish season will end around the end of May. Which is when one of my squamates from the Race is getting married!! So I will be taking a trip to the Carolinas and am extremely excited to see many of my friends again. And after that only God knows what’s next.
Again thank you all so so much for your prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this journey we call life. Love Y’all!
