MONTH 3!!  So, this is my third month on the World Race.  This month our team is in the outskirts of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the capitol, serving at Loyalty School.

Loyalty School is a small Christian, bilingual school of about 35 children in preschool through 9th grade. For the 35 students there are four classrooms. Which means multiple grade levels are in one class together.  Out of the small staff of five, four are teachers, the other is a custodian. Due to limited staff the teachers switch classes and multitask to teach the different levels.[WOW! they are super dedicated and such hard workers]

Our amazing host, Mr. and Mrs. Flores balance many roles.  In addition to them owning the school, they also teach, do the work of principal and receptionist, organize school events, help fund some of the children who cannot afford schooling, and bring almost every child to and from school every morning in their 15 passenger van.

They also have church at the school every Sunday morning(also providing rides for the members), do home visits to families of the church twice a month, and raise two children. The heart and vision God has given them for their ministry is so big.  The long hours, hard work, and dedication they put in daily blows my mind.

This month we get the privilege to be Loyalty School’s first World Race team.  The vision for us being here is to help teach the children proper and clear English through different classes.  There has been one or two of us in each classroom teaching.  My primary role has been teaching 2nd grade(lesson plans and all).

The vision of us coming to teach english is actually so much bigger than that.  As we teach, we have the opportunity to love these children and share God’s heart with them. In addition, us being here has allowed the hard working teachers a time to catch up on other work and a time to rest.

Still, I see this being a small crack in a door that God is opening for much bigger things.  I believe as more teams continue to come into Loyalty School, God will begin to open new doors.  Doors that lead to partnerships, sponsorships, and answers to prayers and visions of this ministry.

I ask that you please be praying for the following needs and visions of Loyalty School.

  • Funds would continue to come in to allow the children to attend school.
  • Connections would be made to start a sponsorship program for the school.
  • School books and material would continue to be donated for the classes.
  • Staff would be able to increase.
  • Each staff member would be filled with energy, love, patience, and guidance of the Holy Spirit daily.
  • Each student would find joy in learning and would be acceptive of the love poured into them daily.
  • Doors would begin to open allowing the ministry to open a feeding center for children.
  • Funds and connections would be made for the organization to open a mission house.
  • God would provide full clarity in each vision and that hearts will be open as He guides this ministry exactly where He wants it.
