Wow! I cannot believe it is already August.  It blows my mind that summer has already come and gone for my family back home and my siblings will be back at school in a few short days.  I miss them so dang much!

I guess it’s a good thing my parents are coming visit me this month! Mom, Dad, and Mama Sheila are all three coming to Romania at the end of this month!  After seven months I will be able to give them tight hugs.  I know it will be extremely refreshing.

Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare to travel here! We will be doing ministry together, eating some traditional Romanian dishes, and have a few free days in Bucharest.  They will be staying with a local, sleeping without AC, possibly taking cold showers and hanging their clothes to dry.  They will get a little taste of what these last 7 months have looked like for me and what the reality looks like for many people in the world.

During their time here we will be partnering with the church my squad is partnering with now, Hope Church.  Hope Church has a vision of sharing God’s love locally, regionally, and internationally.

Their strategy to do this is through raising up, equipping, and recruiting people locally and around the world as missionaries and other workers to share God’s love.  They find churches, organizations, and people across the globe with shared values and establish partnerships with them. And they form projects to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people in the community.

Since being here, our squad has split into multiple teams working along side leaders of the many projects here in Draganesti-Olt, such as Buildings for Building the Kingdom, New Testament Project, and 9,000 Souls (you can read more about these and many more on the website at hoperomania.org).

We have cleared out an area of land for a youth camp and set up tents and living quarters for their week.  We have went to homes of locals who attend church to visit and encourage them.  We have handed out New Testament Bibles in villages.  We have done construction in the church building so they may meet fire codes.  We have spoke at church, done kids ministry, and loved the beautiful people of this area.

Today me and three others started working at the youth camp for the week where we will be preparing meals for the kids.

When my parents come it could be a mix of these things or something completely different. But I am so excited to see all that God has in store for this month!!
