God really used the book Kisses from Katie to reveal His will for me. At the time I began reading the book, WR was only a fleeting idea in my mind. I was uncertain and scared about leaving everything behind to serve for 9 months. But God wasn’t. In the book I read all about the amazing and heartbreaking things Katie witnessed and was apart of, but you know what? They were all GOOD. Because God is GOOD.
God changed the desires of my heart, He opened my eyes. He showed me that the WR is going to be hard, the WR is going to be an experience unlike anything other, the WR is going to force me to take showers less that 12 minutes long, the WR is going to introduce me to some of the best people I will ever know and the WR will entail more trial than I have ever experienced. But all of these things are good because they are for God, and they will be done in the perfect will of God’s heart. And isn’t that where we all want to be anyways?
God asks us to hope even when we don’t know what’s going on, because it makes us put full trust in Him. God asks us to do impossible things, but they aren’t impossible with Him. Through all this we learn. We learn to love our Father with more than we ever have before, and our Father gives us everything through it all, because that’s what He does.
