This September, I will be participating in World Race which is a gap year program in which I will spend nine months traveling to three diverse parts of the world: Central America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. “This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom.”

So, what will I actually be doing?   On the World Race, I might…

…build a house.

…teach English.

…care for orphans.

…dig holes.

…worship with complete freedom and utter abandon.

…preach and pray door-to-door, hut-to-hut, and dorm-to-dorm.

…feed the hungry

…befriend teenage prostitutes.

…encourage pastors and missionaries around the world.

…heal the sick.

…pioneer a ministry.

…hear God’s voice.

…repair broken homes, families, and hearts.

…meet felt needs.

…visit people in prison.

…yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Each day I will have a different opportunity to serve others. Whatever my ministry I’ll be asking God what to do each day, trusting the kingdom is being advanced through each move I make. I believe these 9 months will better prepare me for college and my future.

I am expected to cover my expenses during the mission trip, which is about $46 a day. The total cost of $12,487 covers all my travel and living expenses. To pay for this, I am covering half the cost from savings and summer work and my loving parents are covering a fourth of the cost. I will need to raise an additional $3,200. Knowing that God is faithful to those willing to serve: please know that any and all contributions will be an appreciated blessing,

Thank you for your support as I look forward to the next chapter in my life.
