I was driving the other day and bugs were constantly hitting my windshield. Every time their guts splattered they impaired my vision. I tried wiping them away, but they wouldn't go away. So I finally had to get out and scrub the guts off so I could see. Even after scrubbing there were remnants of the guts, but my view was much clearer.
Sin works in the same way in our lives. When we give into a temptation it starts covering our view of what God has for us. We slowly begin to drift away from God. Sometimes our view gets splattered with sin that we begin to drive off the path. Once we realize what has happened because we get a flat tire or in a wreck. We have a different perspective and begin to see the sin in our lives. We try to just drop the sin, but it has a strong hold on us. For us to get our lives back on track with a clear vision takes prayer and work on our part to build an intimate relationship with Christ. There will always be remnant or temptations of those sins. The difference is with our intimate relationship with Christ and spending time in the word its harder for Satan to splatter our windshields.
I pray you do not have to go through a very difficult trial in order to clean off your windshield like I did. For those who have, are, or will go through a tormenting time in your life, please keep in mind that when the Lord has us go through these experiences it is for good to come out of it. When I felt shattered in every way possible the Lord gave me the biggest blessings from my torment. I am eternally grateful! Now my windshield is clear I am following the Lord's will for my life. Beginning the ministry He created me for is exciting. May you allow Him to have full reigns in your life by keeping your vision clear.
