You always hear about those crazy stories about demon possessed people.  Jesus has given us as Christians the power to cast out demons.  Most of the time we don’t come across someone demon possessed or maybe we shrug off the uneasy feeling our soul gets when it’s near.  Demons can easily attach themselves to us causing all kinds of physical pains, thoughts, depression, etc.  We need to be aware of the spiritual warfare all around us.

As we were walking today a woman began to walk in front of us.  Immediately, my spirit was troubled.  I began to pray for the demon to turn around in the name of Jesus Christ.  It turned right back at us.  She began to do some crazy spins, talking, and movements.  She came past us again so we began to pray for her.  She began to do some crazy laugh.  Once she was a little farther and the Holy Spirit was getting stronger she turned with the coldest stare.  She began to yell and flip the Holy Spirit off in a sense.  Our souls were heavy and burdened for this trapped soul.  Once she was out of site we felt lead to follow in prayer.  This demon could feel Jesus near as we got closer.  There seemed to be a certain distance (which was still pretty far) that this demon would shriek from the presence and fling that body around.  Every time we lost her for a little bit that ice cold stare was coming at us from far off.  Half the time she couldn’t see us, but the demon could sense the presence of the Holy Spirit.  It kept letting me know it had been dwelling in that body for years.  Jesus has been showing me how much is going around us spiritually.  We are to prepare ourselves for battle.  We need to be putting on the armor of God every day.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.  To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.  Ephesians 6:10-20
