There is a simplicity in what I do,
in what I am embarking on.
And it’s this….
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich,
yet for your sake he became poor,
so that you by his poverty might become rich.”
-2 Corinthians 8:9
My heart is simply to follow the footsteps of my Lord
and in the process be used of Him, and know more of this King I am so in love with.
“Let this be recorded for a generation to come,
so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD:
that he looked down from his holy height;
from heaven the LORD looked at the earth,
to hear the groans of the prisoners,
to set free those who were doomed to die,
that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise,
when peoples gather together,
and kingdoms, to worship the Lord”
-Psalm 102:18-22
I’m not anyone special, just a regular human being.
In my attempt to follow I have made myself poor, and given up my rights.
That is, over course,
that those who don’t know His name may become rich by what He offers.
Which is Himself.
Christ is what Christ offers.
There is fullness in HIM…..and so I go.
But of course I won’t be leaving you know…..
I still need 7,748 dollars in either one time donations or monthly pledges in 12 Days.
I AM at risk of not being able to leave.
So humbly I come before you,
Body of Christ,
and I ask you to get me on the field.
I’m not JUST asking you to just give our of your excess.
I am asking you to sacrifice in order to bring God’s Kingdom to earth.
(awkward enough for you…yes, I hope so)
I am asking because there are 3 year old little boys that are being sexually exploited every night by pimps.
And thats NOT okay.
I am asking because there are people who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ.
And THATS not okay.
I am asking because there are widows and prostitutes who have never been told they are beautiful and that they have a King who is fighting for them.
And that, my friends, is not OK.
So I am asking you to be uncomfortable.
As I follow Christ, I am asking to to join me in this adventure.
I challenge you brothers and sisters….
Will you be the one to just read this and say ‘Attagirl Olivia!!’ and get back to your life
and completely forget about this all.
Or will you be the one to MOVE.
