Sitting in a cozy circle in the front room (at about half past 9), our team was beginning our nightly feedback session when we heard footsteps out coming from outside. We quickly noticed a shadowy figure of a man walking towards the house seemingly carrying a large plastic basket.  Seconds later Francois (Louie and Erica’s son) entered the house carrying a large blue basket full of food. All seven pairs of eyes lit up as we gazed upon the beautiful array of vegetables, fruits, donuts, whole wheat rolls, popcorn, and numerous other goodies. He simply placed the basket on the table and informed us that another was on the way. As first we didn’t believe it was for us. We thought that surely there must have been some mistake. You see, on The World Race we get very little fresh produce (if any), and as for variety, well….its fairly inexistent. A few of us head over to Louie’s house to picked up the other basket and upon returning announced that the food was indeed all for us! Hoots, hollers, laughs, and screams break out in that little room as Lindsey declares that Christmas had come early!

This was God’s provision….this was glorious. We had talked that day about how we needed to go to the grocery store soon but no, our Daddy took care of that for us. He ‘brought home the bread’ like any good Dad does for His kids. Sometimes I tend to think that God only comes through for me at the last moment, when there is literally no other option, and that He only gives me what I absolutely need. Upon receiving a blessing like this, that we didn’t absolutely need but was such a treat, I caught a better glimpse of my Fathers heart. A daddy who delights in blessing His children in all sorts of ways. I can just picture the huge smile across His face as He watched all of up absolutely giddy with joy.

We later heard word that these baskets would be coming every week! You see ‘Beam Africa’ usually receives these baskets for their centers but because they are shut down for Holiday they have it to give away. Thank you Daddy for showing up when we don’t expect it. You are lovely.
