OH glorious 2 week vacation! Everything about Christmas and time off is unspeakably wonderful. I have had to make a conscious effort to actually relax (as true relaxation doesn’t come to me easily) and spend time marveling at my Savior. The above picture is pretty much my life the last couple of days. I have been swimming in books. Mainly the Bible, but also Radical by David Platt and a wonderful little book a friend gifted me with that is filled with only the most wonderful, encouraging, and challenging Puritan quotes. I am tremendously blessed
….period.
But wait, let me rewind….
So as the Holidays just fleeeeeeeeeew past me, I barely had time to catch my breath. What with the hustle of preschool Christmas plays, the madness of Christmas shopping, and attempting to write a sermon…I just don’t know what happened to the majority of December. So to say the least, all I have wanted to do this week is take time to bask and rest in the presence of the LORD.
Let me share with you some things that have encouraged me to no end.
“Faith, though it has sometimes a trembling hand, it must not have a withered hand, but must stretch”
-Thomas Watson

(This reminds me of Deuteronomy 20:1-4. Please go and read that now. Its sure to encourage you.)

“Weak faith is true faith–as precious, though not so great as strong faith: the same Holy Spirit the author, the same Gospel the instrument…..for it is not the strength of our faith that saves, but the truth of our faith–not the weakness of our faith that condemns, but the want of faith.”
-John Rogers

Last night, as I was praying, I asked the Lord for something rather specific. I won’t get into detail now, but as I spent the following minutes just waiting on God to speak, He brought countless things to my mind. I ended the evening knowing in my head, but pondering in my heart, that God was there with me and that He had heard every word I had said. I still wondered though…wondered if God would really come through. Then He reminded me of Matthew 7:9-11.
Skip forward to this morning….as I was reading the Word. Man, let me tell you….the way the Lord speaks is incredible. The things that the LORD has reminded me of last night…were the same exact things I was reading this morning. Any ‘wonderings’ I had the night before about the Lord hearing me, were diminished in an instant.
How faithful is our God is caring and growing His children!

If you would like to partner with me in the ministry, any amount of support would help.

“And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.
You received without paying; give without pay.”
-Matthew 10:7-8

Now my question for you is…..are you doing that?
