I’m going on an adventure!!
This is probably the biggest announcement of my life so far. And for that, I’m blessed.
This next school year and summer, I have been given the incredible opportunity to take a gap year with a program called The World Race. In this next year, over the course of 9 months, I will be serving in Thailand, Guatemala, and Malawi, Africa for a gap year dedicated to furthering the gospel of Christ.
In August, there will be a training camp preparing us for life on the field and equipping us for spreading the gospel of Christ.
I am a part of a squad of about 55 people, but we will be split into teams of about 8 on the field. Together we will all spend 3 months in each country reaching out to families, orphans, and anyone about Jesus Christ. This trip will be life changing for me and I will undoubtedly come back a new person.
But of course, this incredible chance comes with a challenge, a grand total of $13,651 of a challenge, to be exact. I am completely trusting in God that I will meet my goal and be able to fully complete this journey for him, but I do have deadlines.
By July 22nd, I have to meet my first goal of $5,000.
By September 19th, I have to have a total (including that 5,000 previously mentioned) of $10,000.
And in the last day in January of 2016, I need to have met my goal completely.
I will be doing multiple things to fundraise to meet my financial need, but I also do need supporters. Anyone who is willing to support me, please do! I continue to pray every day for my trip and everything is in God’s hands, my life is his as well as every worry I have. My joy is in the Lord and I will not fear!
John 16:33 reminds us:
“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!”
